As the Executor of her neighbor’s will and estate, my sister was researching details for the funeral. If you’ve never had to do so, you’d be amazed by all the decisions to be made along the way, even if there’s a will. Engrossed in her search, she wasn’t fully aware of the virtual fingerprints she was leaving. She wasn’t aware, that is, until she started to pay attention to the ads running along the right-hand side of her Facebook page each time she opened it. Caskets of mahogany, cherry, and every other variety of wood adorned the edge of the page.
So how do you get rid of unwanted casket ads? You have to force them off the page.
She opened a new tab. Entered a new search.
Villas in Tuscany.
I mean, really. If you’re going to change the page, CHANGE the page!
It worked.
Now she travels virtually all over the place. When Tuscany’s lustre wore off, she googled train travel in the west. While she’s working on other things on her computer, she’s also touring the Grand Canyon.
What are the visuals that you’re allowing on the pages of your life? It might be time to ask yourself… Where do I need to reset my focus?
