A new pair of shoes means a new place for a cat to relax, right? It seems that cats really enjoy hanging out in boxes, not sure why this is. I did hear a headline on the radio recently about it, but I didn't get to hear the report. Perhaps some of our cat lovers in the Rain can tell us why this is?

Hindsight is always 20/20 Amanda S. Davidson and it is funny that they prefer something more simple than anything we might buy them.
It is an easy way to keep them entertained Robert Bob Gilbert , so that is good for us!

Cats have such unusual personalities. I bought beds for my 2 felines, but they rarely use them. They seem more content in boxes or on towels instead.

Sounds like pet stores should start selling this type of stuff for them Tammy Lankford, since it seems that they don't even like the fancy stuff, haha.
Amazing how a cat can make this look comfortable and yet, we just do not believe it. Like where is the soft pillowy softness in a hard cardboard box?!? Nothing soft, cushiony, silky, downy, foam rubbery... just a hard cardboard wall of a box to lean my soft face against.... No thank you... But great photo shot.

You are right Jane Chaulklin-Schott , it doesn't look very comfortable to me, but the cat seems very comfortable indeed.
Brian, cats are amazing creatures, and one of the fun things about them is the huge variety of coloration. And mine loves shoe boxes, too!
