If you enjoy brushing elbows with celebrities and popular public figures, the Scottsdale/Fountain Hills area in Arizona would be a great place for you. It’s an extremely popular area for famous people to settle down, and buy or sell homes. Let’s take a look at some of the household names and familiar faces you may come across in Scottsdale or Fountain Hills.
Alice Cooper - One of the most recognizable on the list, Alice Cooper is a singer, songwriter and musician who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011. He’s been in the business for over 50 years. He moved to Scottsdale during childhood and attended Cortez High School.
Hugh Downs - Currently living in Scottsdale, Arizona, Downs is a commercial TV personality who, until 2004, held the Guinness World Record for the most hours on television. He is also a relative of Davey Crockett!
Meadowlark Lemon - One of the most well-known members of the Harlem Globe Trotters, Meadowlark now resides in beautiful Scottsdale. While alive he gave back to the community in many ways and was also an ordained Minister
Frankie Muniz - Maybe you watched his show or saw him in numerous films in the early 2000s. Muniz currently lives in Scottsdale where he took a shift from acting and music to driving racecars.
Danica Patrick - Speaking of racecar drivers, you may also happen to run into Danica Patrick in the Scottsdale/Fountain Hills area. She is a successful Indianapolis 500 racer who has been heralded as one of the most successful women in the sport.
Joe Garagiola - Today, Garagiola calls Phoenix his home, which is about 20 minutes from the Scottsdale area. He is famous for his career in sports. He was a major league catcher and baseball broadcaster for almost 30 years. You may see him around town with his son who is the VP and manager of the Arizona Diamondbacks!
John McCain - The 2008 Republican presidential nominee currently resides in the Phoenix area. He is currently the senior US Arizona senator.
Other celebrities who were born or used to live in the Scottsdale/Fountain Hills area include David Spade, Lynda Carter, Steven Spielberg, Emma Stone, and Stevie Nicks. Perhaps if they return to the area for a family reunion, you may be able to spot them!
