We Put Out The Display Now Bring On the Ghouls and Goblins
Halloween means different things to different people. For some it is a chance to be a kid again and spend some time getting dressed up and offer treats to the little ones that come to the doors and maybe even put a little scare into them as well as a treat.
Others see it as something that is an annoyance and sit huddled down in the darkness hoping they'll pass on quickly with no damage to the house.
We live on a small cul-de-sac and the little ones are not very little anymore. We may get 3 or 4 kids and that will be the end of it. We are too far away from the main stream to get kids crossing busy roads to get to us.
Regardless, we still put out a few Halloween decorations, need a good witch as well as a black cat. The colors on the 2 dwarf maples that frame our front door are perfect for Halloween as there is a red tree and an orange tree. Just to the right of them is a newer dwarf maple that will add to the color in a few more years.
Along the sidewalk there will be some pumpkins with candles inside to light the way for the little ones.
Our candy dish will be filled with treats, and of course they will be the type I like the best, just because there may be a few left over at the end of the night.
Uptown the will be a trunk or treat event where many of the kids will get there bags filled in a very safe environment.
