For Dick Greenberg 's Photo Challenge this month, I thought I would share a fun picture of one of our golden retrievers, Maverick.
This was July 19, 2014 only two weeks after Maverick adopted our family. He has always been quite a character.
We learned early on that the Mav had a thing for ice cubes. On this hot summer day, we treated both boys with a few random cubes on the back porch.
He didn't waste anytime grabbing one off the ground.
Now that Maverick is 2 1/2 years old, he still has a thing for ice cubes. If we get cubes out of the ice dispenser, he drops everything and comes running like a crazy man watching patiently as the cubes fill our glasses until we grab one and share it with him.
Our older golden, Rocky just doesn't see the attraction. He may take an ice cube from our hand but will quickly drop it on the floor to make a nice puddle.
