Walt knows a great place to view the Grand Illumination.

We went to see the Grand Illumination tonight, we were able to see the fireworks at all three locations and we never got out of the car.

I have a husband who knows the best places to park near Colonial Williamsburg.  We parked in the visitors overflow parking lot.  It is located directly behind the Governor's Palace so we could see the fireworks above the trees for the Palace, the Magazine and the Capital in the distance.

Our view wasn't as good as the picture above but we could see all of the fireworks above the trees and got home without fighting traffic.

Sybil Campbell - I've never seen a "grand Illumination light show," but I would love to! That photograph is just gorgeous! I do know about Williamsburg and visited the city and historical sights several years ago and loved every moment. You live is a beautiful part of the world where so much history comes alive!
