Wall Mural in The Barrio in Carlsbad
Carlsbad has an impressive collection of wall murals scattered throughout Carlsbad Village and in an area known as The Barrio centered aroung Roosevelt Street and Walnut Avenue.
The Barrio is an interesting area of Carlsbad, consisting mostly of older single family homes, some apartment buildings, and a few commercial operations including the popular and well known Lola's Market. The Barrio, one of Carlsbad earliest neighborhoods, developed with the immigration of many Mexicans during and after the Mexican Revolution in 1916.
