I recently had an appointment with a service technician on a Saturday between 8 am and 2 pm. I asked if he could give me a shorter window and he said he could not. The technician called on Friday and confirmed the appointment for the next day.
On Saturday after having waited for five hours, I called and left a message on his voice mail. During the afternoon four different representatives from the home warranty company called and left messages with him also. He never responded to any of the voice messages.
Walt and I waited a total of nine hours for him to show up to no avail.
When I spoke to a representative from the company about it a couple of weeks later, she said that the technician reported that he had come to the house a little late and no one was home so he left. There was no card left, no phone message and no evidence that he had been to our house.
I was discussing this with my husband's son-in-law and he told me that he believes customer service is becoming a thing of the past. I really hate to think that this is true.
What is your opinion, is customer service dead or a thing of the past?
