Here is the scenario, the buyer closes on their new Manchester NH Area home. Within two weeks of closing the buyer got a notice their mortgage was sold. Before they could ponder what that meant, they got a second notice that their mortgage was sold again.
What does this mean he asked? Are they taking my house from me?
With a simple call to myself, i was able to tell him what it means when a mortgage is sold and how it will not affect his purchase or his mortgage.
When a mortgage is sold, the only thing that changes is where to write their check to. The mortgage terms, rate or length, does not change.
Many mortgage companies do not hold the mortgages they write. They often sell the loan to another bank on the secondary market.
This is something that is often discussed by the loan officer. There is a form that should disclose the percentages of mortgages that company does sell after closing.
SO no need to worry. Before hitting the panic button, great agents have answers and can give comfort to their clients.
