We get referrals from a variety of sources....and love being the Ambassadors for the Badger  State and helping people in Southeastern Wisconsin whether it means that they are coming or going. We are licensed Broker Associates and have an education based real estate practice.

Wisconsin  We appreciate an introduction to the Buyer or Seller and knowing a bit about what they are looking for as Buyers or what their timetable is as Sellers. Our recent post you can find here, will explain all about that aspect of referrals.

When we have well meaning relatives who are licensed in another state, we find all kinds of emails and lists of things that do not apply to Wisconsn offers or listings and the well meaning but misguided out of state agent...who is NOT the Buyer...telling us what to do and when to do it....I think not.   We practice real estate in Illinois and the agent practices it in the state where she is licensed and not in states where she is not.

Please....if you are a referring agent...OR the parent,NO keyboard of someone who is relocating to another state...let the agent who is licensed where the property is located, do his/her job. Please...Just take your hands OFF the Keyboard

and step away from the transaction.

This is a professional service announcement brought to you by Sally K. & David L. Hanson, Broker Associates with Keller Williams in southeastern Wisconsin.

Sally,  don't you just love being micro managed 3000-6000 miles away? I jettisoned a ultra luxury buyer because of this identical situation... I have been advising him and then his "business partner" in another continent knew better than me....Endre

I often have people moving here from other areas who say that home inspections in that other state look for this or that and I did not.  Well, we don't have that circumstance or condition here, so I didn't look for it!

Good morning Sally.  I have referred several people to others in a different state.  I let the agent in that state take over.  Way beyond my pay grade.

Good morning Sally and David.  There is a very well worded regulation in Florida that negates a referral fee if the referring agent does anything to actively participate in the search or the transaction.

Love the title, Sally and David. Puts a great picture in my mind. Fortunately, I've not encountered this problem, but the day is coming, I'm sure.

Sally and David, some times this happens because the Realtor who is a relative or good friend is truly trying to look out for the Buyer even though they are getting in the way.  But it also happens as an ego thing when the Realtor who is a relative or good friend is trying to show they are the expert.

Yes George Souto those are indeed some of the reasons !
