I have been listening to a cd series on my way to and from home inspections and with traffic sometimes that alone can take a while. but the other day when I was listening to Financial Revolution, the guy was talking about the story of Jesus where he feeds the multitudes.
- Matthew 14:15-21
- 15 When it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, "This is a deserted place, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food." 16 But Jesus said to them, "They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat." 17 And they said to Him, "We have here only five loaves and two fish." 18 He said, "Bring them here to Me." 19 Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes. 20 So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained. 21 Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.
Most of you know the story, but this is the point that he made, when He meaning Jesus was presented with something (to take care of the need) Jesus didn't just start passing it out. First he lifted it up to His Father and blessed it. He didn't just tell the disciples to go and start passing it out. He had to lift it up and bless it for it to multiply. We are suppose to do the things Jesus did.
He asked on the cd "How many times do you get something, gas, paycheck, extra money, anything that will meet a need and just turn around and use it without ever blessing it or without asking the Father to bless it. If you notice after it was blessed is when it multiplied, not before. What would happen if every time we received something that we asked for the Father to bless it. What would happen if we lifted up one of our most valuable assets - TIME - and always ask the Father to bless it.
I don't know about you but this guy really got me to thinking and I have been lifting a whole lot more things up to the Father for His blessing.
He also shared knowledge on several other stories, one was the widow that was going to eat her last cake and lay down and die, so stay tuned for the rest of that stories perspective.
