Another Lockbox for South Land Park into Inventory

By
Real Estate Agent with Elizabeth Anne Weintraub, Broker DRE #00697006

It's always a bit sad for me when I pick up a lockbox after closing. I generally perform this task myself, although I could hire it to be done like most top agents. I like to collect my thoughts about the transaction as I drive to the house one last time. Reflect. Real estate transactions are about people, and people move out, begin a new life elsewhere and our daily interaction ceases.

Because I care about my clients, it's a bitter sweet moment when escrow closes and they move away. I'm grateful for the few months we worked together. Some of my sellers I work with for a year or more before we go on the market. And then the story comes to an end.

I picked up the lockbox from this home in South Land Park yesterday afternoon and there wasn't a soul around. Cars all over the street because of the Banana Festival in William Land Park, but no people. You can read more about this particular story in my personal blog today at this link: Home in South Land Park Sold With Multiple Offers.

Buying with a home sale contingency is a nice idea, but not feasible in a market like yours now in Sacramento.  There are too many buyers without that contingency.  Sellers don't have to inconvenience themselves for one buyer who didn't assess the market correctly.

Thank goodness you,  Elizabeth Weintraub Sacramento Real Estate Agent, Top 1% of Lyon Agents , and your team are there to help advise how to succeed in current market conditions.

Hi Elizabeth- I love what you said about picking up your lock boxes. And, it must be a very special time for you because you have probably had contact with your sellers every day or week since before you secured the listing. It's easy to tell that you love what you do and you keep a positive attitude about all of it.

What a cute little house, Elizabeth! Somehow, I'm always happy when I pick up my sign and lockbox, as to me it means I got the job done for my clients. And often I don't do it personally.... the buyers' agents will bring those to closing for me after their final walk and I return the favor when I'm a buyer's agent.

Hi Elizabeth -- I can also relate to removing the lockbox and going through the home one last time -- it is bittersweet.  Selling a home is more than just paperwork -- it encompasses so many different and seemingly always moving parts to make it all come together.

The conversation you have regarding contingency offers is spot on --- it's that shoe on the other foot talk that provides the ah ha moment a buyer needs but may not want to hear.
