For: NAR National Real Estate/Archive formerly known as "The Gateway."
After attending the mid year meetings and listening to the presentations, I would
appreciate any feed back on your view of this project. As a NAR Director, we will view
further developments and vote on the proposed project in November.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts and advice.
CEO Dale Stinton provided a detailed overview of the Library/Archive initiative,
the national database of information on all real property in the U.S. at the NAR
Convention in Washington, DC this past week.
He presented an informative Webcast which included an in-depth Q & A session that
addressed the questions and concerns that have surfaced since the Interim Report of the
Gateway Presidential Advisory Group was released.
You can view the National Real Estate Library/Archive White Paper mentioned in the Webcast
or the National Real Estate Library/Archive Executive Summary which highlights what the
initiative will and will not be. View the response of the COVE Group in cooperation with NAR

Real Estate Library/Archive.
I believe that the business world has targeted the real estate business as a business model
from which they can extract referral fees. With that said, they- the Zillows, Trulias and the like,
are compiling databases on a variety of real estate information. We, as a real estate community,
have all this information or have access to it already.
The BIG question is:
How do we get this information into a location that all of us can use?
I'm sure that if we do not have this information aggregated, SOMEONE WILL and then we will either
have to pay for access or pay referral fees to them.
Neither of these options are acceptable to me.
How about you? Let us know what you are thinking.
I will take your opinions to the National Association, so the end product
is something we can use and be proud of.
