There Are Days You Say I Am Going to the Beach

Stumbling upon honus (turtles) was not my goal yesterday, but that's exactly what happened. Except for the extremely windy weather and severely pounding surf up the coast, it was a beautiful day to go to the beach. Kathy Streib gave me the idea to go. I thought why am I sitting in front of my computer at the house when I can sit in front of my cellphone on the beach? The weather in Kailua-Kona was calm. Thirty minutes away, all hell was breaking loose. 

There are beaches much closer to my house in Kona than the beach I visited yesterday, but still it was only a half-hour drive. I had never been there before. Actually, I have stayed at the Four Seasons Hualalai resort, but never navigated to this particular nearby beach. Gorgeous photos, Elizabeth. I never say I'm going to the beach as I'm allergic to the sun. Even covered and with sunscreen I break out in a terrible rash if the sun is strong enough. Funnily enough, only my face doesn't break out. But I've not sunbathed my face for 35+ years and today my skin is better than it was then.

William Feela Oh, I hear ya! My second favorite place to go after the ocean is a lake to go fishing! It's so peaceful. I'm not a real energetic fisherperson, though, I just like to watch my bobber bounce around and feel that tug when the line goes under.

Elizabeth Weintraub Sacramento Real Estate Agent, Top 1% of Lyon Agents - I made it to Honolulu on Thursday but it's been darn cold here so far. Will be in touch re coming to Big Island right after New Year's. Unless you want to come to Honolulu and go to the Bill Maher New Year's Eve show at Blaisdell Center--if I can still get tickets. Things have been terrifically hectic. Got a new listing the day before I left for Hawaii. No complaints!

You're very fortunate to be spending the holidays where you are, Elizabeth.  I have a saying, "When things get tough, the tough go swimming."  I only say that because I don't have a beach nearby.  But, in winter I drive 14 miles one-way to get to the Bond Road California Family Fitness, where they have a delightful pool heated to a delicious 90 degrees.
