We've been getting postive responses to last week's post regarding our efforts to revive YouTube Thursdays, Vbloggers, and video marketing in 2018!

If you Google Video in 2018, a large number of articles are going to pop up with predictions and advice about the use of video in your marketing plan.

If you Google Video for Real Estate in 2018, you'll discover a number of helpful articles with sage advice to help you focus your efforts on the right type of videos.

Here are some video basics to help you prepare for your Video Marketing in the New Year.

Video Quality - Today's smart phones are equipped with some pretty amazing video capabilities. My iPhone6 is better than the old video camera I used when I first started shooting video in 2011. However, if you prefer shooting with a camera, that works too. I normally use my Canon EOS 70D  and a Canon Powershot SX60.

Audio Quality - Built-in microphones have limitations. If at all possible, you should use an external mic. Fortunately, there are now some great options available for smartphones. I also use external mics for my Canons. Again, just Google some options for the camera you plan to use for shooting your videos.

Tripod - Stable video is a must. Nothing ruins a video quicker than shaky footage. There are many options available, but again the best one depends upon the type of camera you're going to be using. If you are going to rely on a smart phone, you'll need a camera rig too. It's essentially a frame for your smart phone that attaches to a tripod. The best ones even have mounts for extra lights and a microphone.

Editing Software - We use Final Cut ProX. However, once again, the best software will depend upon the device you'll be using to edit your video - PC, Mac, or a smart phone. Do some research, there's plenty of information available online.

In the coming weeks, we invite you to join us as we share our tips on creating:

An Introductory Video -

Community Video -

Listing Video - ( It's not what you might expect!)

How to video -

Market Report Video -

We'll even walk you through each step of the creative process. Be sure to join YouTube Thursdays and Vbloggers and get ready to increase your SEO with Videos!

ViewHomes™ grew out of our passion for nature, beautiful surroundings, and peaceful environments. Starting together in an urban environment, over the years we've gravitated towards areas with smaller populations and less density. We now enjoy our lifestyle in a rural environment, but with close proximity to metropolitan areas where we appreciate all the amenities of fine restaurants, shopping, and an easy drive to an international airport.
Living in ViewHomes™ is like having “elbowroom for the soul”.

I look forward to this challenge - okay, well, maybe I really don't as I am a bit shy doing video - I much prefer to be on the other side of the recorder!!

Great re-blog, Roy! Thanks for the reminder and happy New Year again to you and Dolores!
