I am and have always been a big figure skating fan. I enjoy the artistry, athleticism and the unpredictability of the events. However I am miffed by the weight given to jumps, which are difficult, but in and of themselves are neither beautiful or necessarily enhancing to the program as a whole.
I really like flowing programs that make every movement look easy and no telegraphing of jumps to come. My view is that when the simple number of jumps, throws, and tricks surpass the flow, it no longer moves me and without that I prefer speed skating.
Business is the same. When the process is labored and and clients are aware of difficulties, there is in my view, a lack of professionalism. I have always believed that there is, and should be, a higher standard of content at work. The purpose of doing our jobs is not to highlight how hard we are working , but rather to get the job done and in the case of real estate get the property closed. I don't know if that is Weltanschanuung, but to me it is or should be.
