There will be a celebration in honor of the grand opening of the Northwest Art Center located in the lower level of the Gordon B. Olson Library at Minot State University. The Northwest Art Center will host the Walter Piehl Gallery and the Native American Artifact Collection. Part of the celebration will include Keith Bear, a Mandan-Hidatsa storyteller and musician/educator and D.W. Grothe, a cowboypoet/singer-songwriter.Walter Piehl recently retired after 50 years of teaching art at Minot State University. He has donated a major portion of his work to the center's permanet collection. The Grand Opening starts at 5PM with the dedication program starting at 6:15PM. Regular gallery hours will be Monday - Friday 9AM to 4PM.
