I rarely have a sad day, my days are filled with lots of smiles and a laugh or two thrown in for good measure.

It really is all up to us at the end of the day, isn't it, Paul. And I believe one reason so many relationships fall apart is precisely because one of the parties believes the other can make them happy.

I've never thought this way in my life, Paul.  I do understand that some do.

Yep, it all comes from within. While others can sure add to our happy and joy meters - the basic feeling has to come from us. 

( By the way, would love to have seen you on our trip North. Maybe next time without the chaos of a kid schedule. It was a flyin' trip, but I sure fell in love with the waterfront development in Tacoma - want to run that trail along the water one of these days. Bernie I may return in the Fall, if so, I'll call you for a rendezvous.)

The photo is perfect for the message. We have to be happy with ourselves first before we can add others in to the "happy" state. You can't expect others to make you happy it doesn't work that way!
