Zeke, our Chocolate Lab is eleven and still acts like a puppy. When I look into Zeke's beautiful brown eyes I see so much love........ unconditional love! As I was pondering this, and thanking God for Zeke, it hit me that Dog spelled backwards is God, and we all know how much God loves each and everyone of us. So, I know if I were to look into God's eyes I would see the same love ....unconditional love!
Be sure and thank God for your pet(s). God gave us such beautiful animals to love and enjoy while they are here for only a short time.
My oldest brother, Dan, who is now deceased, loved Zeke. When Dan visited, they were inseparable and great buddies. Below is a photo of Zeke (thinking he is a lap dog) lying on my brother's lap. It is one that I will always cherish.
Below is from a 2015 post about Zeke. I enjoyed reading it again and hope you will as well.
My dog Zeke sleeps about 20 hours a day.
He has his food prepared for him.
His meals are provided at no cost to him.
He visits the Dr. once a year for his checkup, and
again during the year, if any medical needs arise.
For this he pays nothing, and nothing is required of him.
He lives in a nice neighborhood in a house that is
much larger than he needs,
but he is not required to do any upkeep.
If he makes a mess, someone else cleans it up.
He has his choice of luxurious places to sleep.
He receives these accommodations absolutely free.
He is living like a king, and has absolutely no expenses whatsoever.
All of his costs are picked up by others who earn a living.
I was just thinking about all this, and
suddenly it hit me like a brick..........
My dog is a CONGRESSMAN
I am so thankful for our Very Special Dog who gives us so much LOVE and JOY!
