Carlsbad Village Holiday Window Decorating Contest for 2018

It’s Black Friday, Cyber Monday is around the corner, and our holiday season is in full swing.

Holiday Window Display in Carlsbad Village 2017 That also means it’s time for the annual Holiday Window Display contest in Carlsbad Village, sponsored by the Carlsbad Village Association.

I was running some errands in the Village the other day and lots of retailers are all ready for the holiday shopping season, with beautiful displays in their storefront windows. (photo at right is from last year)

Participants must have their window displays finished on the 23rd (TODAY), and the Holiday Window Display contest officially starts November 24th.

And remember, Saturday the 24th is Small Business Saturday in the Village - come #ShopSmall!

As in the past Carlsbad residents can vote for their favorite displays. Public voting will take place through December 18th for the “People’s Choice Award.”

A panel of judges from the City and from the Carlsbad Boys and Girls Clubs will pick 2 additional winners. The 3 winners will be announced on the Carlsbad Village Association website on December 19th.

That "window show"was a part of every Christmas as a child going downtown when the stores did very elaborate decorating with animated characters...good to see the tradition in a little different way still done.
