After a long Sacramento winter, many locals are glad to be looking out their windows and seeing blue skies. The week ahead is forecast to be sunnier with warmer temps. Sacramento’s many waterways provide great recreational activities to help us take advantage of the springtime weather.
As one travels east approximately 14 miles on highway 50 from the City of Sacramento, they encounter an opportunity to discover Lake Natoma, near the Hazel Avenue exit. The lake, along the American River, is nicely cradled between Folsom and Nimbus Dams in Sacramento County. The area nearest The Sacramento State Aquatic Center, and along The American River Parkway, provides multiple forms of year-round recreation - Rowing, Kayaking, Fishing, Biking and Picnicking. There are also camping facilities and trails to accommodate horseback riding.
