If you have lived in Denver for years you will know Elitch Gardens at Six Flags and the presence it has in our skyline. If you have only been there a few times you will see that it has changed a lot over the years. This popular urban theme park also has a water park that is loved by many. The wave pool is a spectacle and should be experienced if you are at all interested in water parks. This may be one of the last years the park operates, as there are plans to develop the surrounding area along the river to make for a more dynamic and newer part of town.
Opening day for the theme park is at the end of the month on April 28. The park is open from 10:00am to 8:00pm and tickets start at $32. There are many different requirements depending on which rides you decide to partake in. They have high age and sometimes weight requirements for the bigger and scarier rides. The Brain Drain is a new 7 story wheel that loops around and has riders facing each other and back to back. They go in a 360-degree loop 7 times at a fast speed. If this all sounds too intense there are plenty of family friendly rides as well as rides for kids who are much younger. Elitches will be open all summer and into the fall. If you have visited here before, you may want to get at least one day in this year. It is unclear how many years this park has left to provide thrills and chills.
