Happy Summer! Here are some great events to do to kick off the beginnig of summer with the heat wave we've been experiencing!
Full Moon Madness @ Henry Cowell Redwoods!
June 29th, July 27th, August 24th @ 6PM
Experience Henry Cowell Redwoods in a completely new way…at night! This astronomy-based evening is perfect for the whole family. We will have kids’ crafts, guided night hikes, and a special astronomer guest speaker. To wrap up the evening, the Santa Cruz Astronomy Club will bring their telescopes out for stargazing. Events made possible by Mountain Parks Foundation and California State Parks.
The event will be held in the day use area of Henry Cowell. There is no charge for this event other than a $10 parking fee.
Santa Cruz Beach Train ~ Roaring Camp to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
June 9th-September 29th
The Santa Cruz Big Trees & Pacific Railway operates passenger and freight services on one of the oldest and most historic lines in California. When the route opened in 1875 it carried lumber as well as picnickers and tourists to the Big Trees and Santa Cruz. Today’s Beach Train passengers can start their roundtrip journeys from either Roaring Camp in Felton or from the beach in Santa Cruz. Departs from both the beach in Santa Cruz and Roaring Camp.

Skypark: Food Truck Friday With the Derby Girls

Food Trucks A Go Go is rolling into summer with The Santa Cruz Derby Girls at Food Truck Friday in Scotts Valley. The Derby Girls will be available for photos and autographs, in addition to ticket giveaways for their upcoming games. There are many other surprises, so be sure to come to the event! A Beer and Wine Garden is sponsored by the Scotts Valley Educational Foundation and will feature Scotts Valley’s Steel Bonnet Brewing. Participating Food Trucks include: Holopono, Saucey’z, Drunk Monkeys, El Buen Taco, Nomad Momo & Aunt LaLi’s. There is plenty of open space for families to spread out and enjoy the evening, plenty of picnic tables plus people are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
