"The Lost Boys" opens the summer 2019 season of the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Free Movie Nights this Wednesday, June 19.
On Wednesdays at 9:00 pm from June 19 through August 14, the Beach Boardwalk hosts several weeks of Free Movie Nights.
The iconic teenage vampire film, "The Lost Boys" stars "the Coreys"-Corey Feldman and Corey Haim. Dianne Wiest, Kiefer Sutherland, Jamie Gertz and Jason Patric also feature. Much of the flick was filmed locally, including key scenes on the iconic Beach Boardwalk, Carousel and beach with Santa Cruz standing in for "Santa Carla-the vampire capital of the world."
Additional movies in the summer line-up include Sandlot, The Outsiders, The Wedding Singer and Goonies.
The Summer 2019 Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Free Movie Nights Season runs on Wednesday evenings at 9 pm, starting June 19, 2018 and ending August 14, 2019. Bring a low-profile beach chair or blanket and a good attitude. Please remember no smoking of any kind, and no alcohol on the beach. Food, beverages and alcohol are available for purchaser at the Boardwalk. Kindly toss away all garbage in the many containers available on the way out.
Visitors may enjoy additional free entertainment at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk June 17-August 16, from noon until 6 pm. The Beach Boardwalk also offers Free Friday Night Bands on the Beach, with two shows, one at 6:30 pm and another at 8:30 pm, from Friday, June 14 through August 30, 2019.
