Ending a Vacation and Leaving a Piece of My Heart

We are one day away from heading back home and as so many do it is with a sense of sadness but also excitement to be going home.

It's been a wonderful trip as myself and my 'posse' have many fond memories to cherish.

This trip was with my wife Cauna, her daughter Donna and of course Raphael. It was a cruise to the inner passage of Alaska, starting and leaving from San Francisco.  We left time before and after to tour Northern California using San Francisco as base.

The Golden Gate bridge is difficult to catch as the fog is so common.

The most famous hotel in CA having hosted so many prominent figures in American history, all so fondly remembered by G-Men.  So few were able to escape and officially none have even though a few got off the island and were never seen again.

Of course we had to take a ride on a cable car. San Francisco is one of 3 cities in the world that still has an operating cable car system. The other 2 cities are Boston, MA and Tokyo. There are just 176 certified cable car operators in the world. we had Raphael pose with a box of that special San Francisco treat.

We took a Big Bus tour and as we approached Traveler's square the guide pointed out this special heart and told us it was painted by Tony Bennett, which would explain why he sings about leaving his heart in San Francisco.
