Not So Wordless Wednesday: Designs that Inspire in Beverly Hills!

Yesterday, we were in to Beverly Hills for our monthly meeting.  While Ron was on a call, I walked around perusing the store windows.  I am often inspired by the windows, the artistry that goes into the creation, and how well it represents the brand. Pictured above is a brilliant display of china by Hermes.  It is simple and elegant.

Ralph Lauren caught my attention with this small vignette of boots and bag, reminiscent of the age of Art Deco.  The Art Deco movement began in 1920, perhaps this inspired the window design (celebrating the 100 year anniversary of Art Deco), the bag and boots as well as the elaborate logo design of RL, the brand's initials.

Wishing you all a wonderful Wednesday!

You've helped me learn a new way of looking at and thinking of details, Alexandra, for which I thank you.

Both windows are stunning. It's always fun when you two head for the Hills - Beverly Hills that is. :)

Alexandra, These examples of design are so simple, yet so interesting and elegant. The first one is very eye-catching!

Hi Ron and Alexandra Seigel,

When we were in that area of LA, the car would always veer off to Beverly Hills to visit Rodeo Drive!  I found it fun to look at the windows and dare I say, step into the shops. Occasionally, I might indulge in a purchase!

Since my favorite color is blue, then you know which window is my favorite. But I do enjoy both windows. Happy Wednesday.

Beautiful scenes, both, Alexandra, especially the Hermes one... and I say that not necessarily being all that "taken" by the actual china displayed (just not a dark blue person, I think... now if it was a rich pink, we might have something to talk about! )

Nina Hollander They could have done the same thing with pink china and the background would be a shade of pink.  I find their windows to be exemplary!  A

Myrl Jeffcoat we agree, although I do not need another piece of china, I would have been tempted to go in and perhaps if the price was reasonable buy a mug for a gift...That is the mark of a great window dressing for me.  The same goes with websites, do I want to go past the home page!  A

Sheri Sperry - MCNE® I love checking the windows out, in all the cities we have been to.  In Europe, especially Italy, I like joining the Italians on their "passagiata" after dinner.  They, and the French are masters at window dressing...A

I wish some of my antique dealers would use displays like this at the antique shows, we might attract some of the millenials and get them to take action buying antiques saving the environment by not always buying new items of low value.

Hi Ron and Alexandra- I can tell you that their branding and being true to it is working because I could tell it was Hermes and Ralph Lauren without reading what you wrote. Mind you, I'm not their typical client, I just like looking at ads.
