2020 Annual 5K Paw Walk
San Diego Botanic Garden in Encinitas
It’s almost time for the 8th Annual 5K Paw Walk in the Garden, hosted by the San Diego Botanic Garden and the Rancho Coastal Human Society. Proceeds will benefit both organizations.
The San Diego Botanic Garden’s mission is to introduce, or re-introduce, residents to the beauty and resources at the 37-acre facility in Encinitas.
This fun, non-competitive event is on Saturday February 15, rain or shine, beginning at 8 am and running until 12 noon. The first walk starts at 9 am, and you must begin your walk no later than 11 am.
And while having a dog is a big part of the fun, it’s not necessary!!
From what I’ve read, and heard from a couple of people I know with dogs, humans AND dogs alike love the 5K Paw Walk at the San Diego Botanic Garden. And of course it’s a beautiful place to visit.
The San Diego Botanic Garden 5K Paw Walk will have pet products available, food for humans, dog treats, and plenty of information and displays for canine lovers. You can be sure there will be plenty of dogs and owners and friends enjoying a beautiful day in the award winning gardens in Encinitas if photos from before are any indication!
The San Diego Botanic Garden has 4 miles of beautiful trails, lots of palms and flowering trees and plants. The Garden also hosts the largest collection of bamboo in the country in their 37-acre facility. You’ll also enjoy multiple micro-climates ranging from rainforest to desert, from Hawaii to bamboo, to tropical fruit and Canary Islands.
Rancho Coastal Humane Society, founded in 1960, provides a wide range of programs and services including shelter care, adoption, education, pet assisted therapy, a pet food bank (1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 9 until 11 am), and an animal safe-house.
You can register now for this fun event for you and your dog, with several ticket prices. And you can also fundraise for prizes!
