This most recent AR release of the gremlins has me really thinking about whether I feel like continuing to be active in the Rain.  I am thinking that there are more cons than pros in support of AR, but I figured I would let y'all help me out.  I treasure the "friendships" I have made in the Rain so maybe it is time to find out how genuine some of y'all truly are.  A former member that I stay in contact with contends that AR is filled with fake people and when he left the Rain most of the people that claimed to be "friends" didn't stay in contact with him.  I am fine either way, I have been through struggles in my life and seen people come and people go.  It is indeed hard when people that we feel care about us show us that they truly never did, but I guess it is the way of the world.  I am not that way so it always makes me sad to find out others are, especially when I thought they would be in my life forever.

I have enjoyed my time in the Rain and I always love supporting others, but it is indeed a bit disheartening at times to support those that don't reciprocate.  I am definitely of the mindset that it is better to give than receive but it also feels like a waste of time to support those that don't support me and perhaps I should give more to those that truly care and want to be supportive of me rather than those that could care less about me.  I have NEVER received a referral from anyone that I interact with in the Rain, so with regard to business where is ActiveRain helping me out?  Perhaps people see my blog posts and reached out to me but it also seems that there might be more effective places to blog that will be seen by the search engines if that is the only benefit I am receiving from being in the Rain?

I am hoping that all of y'all that claim to care about me will indeed stay in touch and I still look forward to meeting some of y'all that I have not yet met in person.  I always enjoy reaching out to those that I interact with when I am in their city or nearby.  I absolutely prefer in-person friendships to those made on the internet, haha.

Dear Brian England - My motto is, when in doubt don't. Get the facts. As far as gremlins go, not one person on AR should take it personally. Something happened. Unless you walk in somebody else's shoes, there's no sense in casting stones. I can't even imagine what it will cost to fix the problems behind the scenes but the cost more than likely will far exceed what we would pay for our own personal computer or home repairs. I don't believe it was intentional. I pray nobody has COVID or died or was involved in the shootings, lootings, accidents, burying loved ones etc. Now, if I suddenly see a GoFundMePage to help with the cost for repairs, well, I'd have to think really hard. Financially, I couldn't afford a contribution. I do believe the majority of people here on AR are GOOD and not FAKE. That hurts my heart to hear that. If you are getting more support from your Broker or Association or you're paying a Coach, that's great! But if you believe in building relationships, you can honestly say, yes! People care. If you're comfortable with the majority of us here on AR, let's stick together. Why give up the ship? If it's true, birds of a feather flock together and you are fond of the "f" word and you  honestly believe "AR is filled with Fake People," and you decide to leave, I will be disappointed. I disagree. Personally, it's a slap in my face and it makes me sick to even hear that. Misery loves company and I don't fit in with misery. Nor do I think you are a miserable person. Right now, there isn't one person I know who isn't struggling financially or hasn't lost family members because of the virus, or worried about never seeing family and loved once again. Our losses are great - financially, physically, mentally. Everything has changed. In the big scheme of things, in my opinion it's better to to look at the bigger picture. Keep your faith. Pray. Believe that when the going gets tough, the tough get going. I value our friendship and that time I got together with you and your family was the highlight of my summer, even in the torrential rains! Lightning! Flooded streets! and gusty winds! Think about it and reconsider. Let this be your decision and don't let anyone (especially someone in love with the "f" word) persuade you otherwise.

All is well with me Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP nobody hurt me and I am not mad at anyone.  I am not mad at AR for this most recent glitch, but it just got me thinking that I spend too much time on the site, especially as it gets more and more difficult to even use.  I am not going away, I just won't likely be as active as I have been.

Hi Brian, I can't devote a lot of time on any platform like I did in the beginning. You might know me as a fair weather friend, because I come and go, after several months of absences I pop back in again. It is difficult to devote so much time to creating posts, commenting on everyone's posts, then trying to find enough time in the day for the REAL work of contacting buyers and sellers. I truly hate our work for June disappeared. I participated for the first time in several months and POOF! Gone.

I sent a referral to an AR contact recently and she mentioned the same thing you did, whether people were real or not, and that I sounded very real. Well, of course I am as down to earth as a sweet southern girl can be!

Hopefully there will be answers soon. I may have missed an update, but I am on Facebook every day and we can look each other up there if I should miss you here.

I suspect a lot of folks have used these pandemic times to reassess how they are spending their hours.  And, certainly, any glitches to the way we have normally done things, seem more frustrating now than in the past!  I hope you will remain on AR in some measure!  Perhaps, with a little luck the gremlins, the pandemic and other issues currently occupying our lives, will lesson their grip, and let us breath freely once again!

I think the latest update is that the lost data has been found Pat Starnes-Front Gate Realty but they are figuring out if it can be restored or not.  I haven't checked the Q & A section since yesterday morning and that is where they seem to post the updates.

"They" say that our state is in pretty bad shape Georgie Hunter R(S) 58089 but I am not sure that I believe that.  I am still staying home for the most part, mainly because most of the places I would go are closed anyways, haha.  I hope that you are staying healthy too!

I am sure that I will remain Myrl Jeffcoat but I think the blogging that I was doing will change to some degree.  I am not sure the direction it will go from here on out, but I will continue to participate.  I feel that all of these glitches and issues in the world we are going through now could possibly be blessings in disguise, so I look forward to what is coming after we get through all of them!

Brian, I missed this post, and you are right, sometimes members disappear, and we don't hear from them again.  Gita left quite a while ago, and still email/text and call her.   I talk to Nina frequently too.   I miss Amanda Davidson, but she is busy with her new husband, but catch up on FB.    I pop in and out, but spend lots less time here than before.  I just doesn't seem to pay off anymore.

Hi Brian England,

I can say that it was a pleasure speaking to you in the last few weeks and getting to know you.  From seeing you our weekly calls where you were in your "office" or you were handing out food to the needy.  Your presence on the Rain is truly felt by many.

I can understand your frustration on what you would like to do, but ask yourself if you're benefitting in anyway by staying and if you do, are you learning anything that may be of help to you?  Also, by staying, especially during these times, it just helps to be around others of the same mind set.

Only you can decide what you want to do and if the people that you surround yourself with on AR are real or not.

Either way that you decide, I'm sure that you will do what you feel is best for you.

There is always so much to learn in the Rain Jeffrey Richman so I will definitely hang around to learn all that I can.  I think this will likely lead to my blogging style going through a change, but I still might be as active as I always have been.

Hi Brian... as you may have noticed, I pretty much dropped out a month ago. It was so frustrating to try to post and comment here and when the entire site crashed it only reinforced my decision to minimize my posting here. I don't have enough hours in the day for that. I'll continue to read and comment some... when it doesn't take 15 minutes to log on!

I'm not convinced this platform will survive under current circumstance/ownership. And even if it does, it's so messy it doesn't represent my brand well to the public. And I don't need the Rain messing with my brand image.

I decided I can stay in touch with the people I like here in other ways and learned a long time ago that people who don't reciprocate are easy to forget about and I don't  take it personally. People who leave the Rain, however, need to remember that they also need to reach out and not just assume that everyone will be reaching out to them.

Reciprocation is the key Nina Hollander as a friendship, business relationship or other any other type of relationship is a two-way road.  I always support those that support me and don't worry as much about those that aren't willing to at least reciprocate.  I am glad that you and I are friends outside of the Rain and you have always reciprocated the support that I give to you!
