A Bird and an Ocotillo - June in Tempe AZ

Ever since I discovered that I can use my phone as my easy to carry binoculars for bird watching, I have seen a lot more pretty birds in our neighborhood.

I love to watch them, and especially to listen to their pretty songs; now they are becoming part of my moments collection.

I admired how this litte fellow knew exactly where to step on the spikey, yet, perfectly safe, ocotillo plant.

And for those of you, who have been following my blog and were interested in the ocotillo plant, here is a view of it in June versus the look in mid-April. Its little reddish-orange flowers are gone - the yard still has the color spot with the bird of paradise plant.

Hi Michael Jacobs , I was right next it ... Last night I figured out what attracts the birds to the ocotillo - no predators are likely to reach them there, while they are asleep.
