Thanks, Paula, for sharing this. My mother died of lung cancer; my husband survived prostate cancer. I've known too many people who didn't survive various cancers and that announcement that there is cancer is always frightening.

My Mom has cancer and it was definitely difficult the first few years, but she has set an amazing example for us.  She has kept it at bay for over 10 years without any treatment or prescription drugs.  Healthy eating and exercise is the best medicine for our bodies!

Good morning. I'm sorry to hear you have to deal with this again in your own life. I listened to your podcast and you have a lot of great tips to help people manage their emotions and experience through a cancer diagnosis. In fact, your advice is quite appropriate also for people who are not dealing with cancer!

My wife, Dolores, had surgery on Monday morning to remove a basal cell carcinoma from her right cheek. 

Good morning Paula McDonald, Ph.D. I remember when my mom got cancer back in '95. She is cancer free for 25 years now.

Fortunately, my hairy cell leukemia has been in remission for many years. 

Dolores' surgery was successful but she need to take it easy for a few days and will have a large bandage on her face for a week. We are thankful for the advancements in surgical procedures.
