A Successful REALTOR® Doesn't Play House

By
Real Estate Agent with DFW FINE PROPERTIES 0506509

FOR KID'S SAKE, A SUCCESSFUL REALTOR® DOESN'T PLAY HOUSE

Your success depends on your ability to effectively communicate in any given situation. All real estate agents have a different degree of knowledge, training, and expertise. The frequency and experience to succeed in today's Seller's Market with low inventory, plus the challenge one faces in the current market makes all the difference when it comes to outcomes. The goal is to be successful and to treat your clients well.

Skills and confidence matters. It is important to be prepared and ready to meet the demands of the consumers (buyers, sellers, and/or investors). One person can't succeed without finesse and authenticity when it comes to respect and cooperation with their clients, colleagues, Escrow Officers from various Title Companies and/or real estate attorneys, and all people involved in the real estate industry.

The lack of effective communication is a major source of problems and failure. When it comes to other people's money and investments, a real professional doesn't fake it until they make it. A new agent to the business would best serve their friends and clients if they referred them out and still receive a referral fee. If a REALTOR® offers anything less, they risk losing their credibility and friendship. Projecting a positive image that accepts commitment is the responsibility of a successful REALTOR®. It is important to know that the only person you can control is yourself. Honesty matters. No one has control over what other people say and do. A razor-sharp agent with expertise has plenty of opportunities to draw from personal experiences and has the resources available when needed. REALTORS® who strive for the highest possible level of success are in great demand. If you are looking for someone in the DFW area of Texas, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Love the photo!  Little ones always like to open doors and play the agent with me.  It's fun!  Communication is key.  Great post Patricia!

Thanks, Anna Banana Kruchten CRS, CRB, Phoenix Broker! I also love when clients bring their children. Their curiosity and willingness to participate always puts a smile on my face. We are not just educating consumers, we are educating children to become future buyers and/or REALTORS of America!

Patricia you are absolutely correct in saying that in this STRONG sellers market it is very import for buyers to be represented by an experienced, knowledgeable, Realtor with proficient communication skills.

Totally with you, Patricia. It's also a time for mutual respect and communication between listing agents and buyers agents. I'm remembering what it's like to be in the field with clients when agents are calling me today. They deserve my help and respect.

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD - Amen! A successful REALTOR always projects a professional and positive image to their clients at all levels of the industry. A distasteful/untrustworthy image filters down and people lose respect.

Hi Patricia:

You're an excellent communicator who undoubtedly inspires confidence in your clients.   Realtors would do well to follow your example.

Jeff Dowler, CRS -  Thank you! A REALTOR is tested many times. Real Estate is a serious business. The current market is tough. Clients wanting to buy or sell property now should lean more towards a qualified individual rather than acquaintances who are newly licensed.

Brian L. Sirota, Esq. - Choosing the right REALTOR involves a critical decision. A dynamic communicator takes years of practice. The qualified REALTOR is prepared to meet the challenges of the current market. It's all about execution and never about playing house or games with other people's time and money.

Thank you, Brian.

It's definitely not time to play pretend when representing clients in such an important decision, Patricia. Thankfully, some of us were blessed to have good work habits and a selfless sense of service to others! You are one of those people and am happy to know you. Fantastic post!

Wanda Kubat-Nerdin - Wanda Can! You're one of the nicest people to me. Thank you.

It is every agent's duty to be honest with prospective buyers and sellers. Unfortunately, many are getting into the business without experience. This is a very tough market and this is not the time to fake it until you make it. A true friend would refer their business out and learn the process before pretending. Just because a person gets their license, doesn't mean they are ready and able to negotiate sales and understand the current market. A learning curve doesn't happen over night.

I am also very happy to know you and glad we've had a few conversations. I could tell, you are the real deal and a great AR friend to the masses here on ActiveRain.

Hello Patricia - a few days away from ActtiveRain and I missed this post.  With its eye-catching title, the story you tell is so much more tha tnhat and provides a lot of food for thought for those interested in making a move and choosing the right real estate representation.  Effective communication is so important.

Michael Jacobs - You made my day! Thank you, very much for your comment. I like what you had to say about offering "a lot of food for thought." I really did think deeply about this one and it was important for me to choose the right title. It was the photograph I received from my client that sparked the idea.
