Customizing your Active Rain blog using the Active Rain Customizer is very popular right now. You can cruise around Active Rain and see all the different headers and blog themes. Some are simple while others are very extravagant.
I was hesitant in changing over to a customized header using the Active Rain Customizer because many of the blogs I have visited just take too long to load. Since we know that there are still many people using 56K modems on dial up this is a great concern. Research shows that if your blog or website take more than 20 seconds to load on a 56K modem you are going to lose that visitor. I was not going to take any chances.
The next thing was that I am busy writing blog posts and tutorials for sellers and Active Rain members; I did not want to take time away from that to design a header for our blog.
Then I found a new Active Rain member who does great blog headers and website headers. David Daniels just joined Active Rain and wrote a post about giving away 10 Active Rain headers. Well, I won one of those headers. He has given away all the headers now but he only charges $39 to do a blog header for you. David owns FlyersToYou. We had our own company logo ( the globe) and new photos that we sent to David.
The reason that the header that David designed does not take long to load is because he makes sure that the header is below 50KB. Ours is only 25KB which only takes a split second to download. David has a special software program that checks the size and download times so that he can make sure everyone can experience the great visual effects of blog headers.
So if you like what you see on our blog don't hesitate! Get on over to David's blog and tell him you want to him to design your header for you. David is in the process of designing matching stationary and envelopes for us. He is also going to be doing all of our high end listing brochures with matching websites. These are for our homes over $1,000,000. Our sellers are just going to love this!

We absolutely love our blog header! Thank you David! You are an asset to Active Rain. I woke up on Tuesday morning to the surprise of seeing the bog header David designed on our blog. We loved it so much I kept my blog up all day to come back to it and just stare at it from time to time.
