RPR, do you use it?

I just listened to another webinar telling me how great RPR was and how it was going to change how real estate valuations are done.  I have sat through several of their how-to webinars and my assistant and I spent over 5 hours on Saturday working to produce 1 report.

When it was time to go on to something else, I called support to help me figure out what I was doing wrong...Simple you cannot do that on RPR.  You have to do a CMA, not a report.  My property had never been for sale in the MLS, our 2nd  property had no address so it could not be done and our 3rd property was in a development that was not platted in their system because it was new so no info there either.

Do you use RPR?  What class did you take to make it easy to use? The reports are pretty and I think it will be an asset if I can only figure it out.  HELP, if you know anything about this program.  TIA

Gwen, I tried when it first came out, but was too general, no way to drill it down to specific neighborhoods.   Some of ours have 70's next to 90's homes and shouldn't lump them all together.

Joan, That is one issue but for the lots and homes that have never been on the market, you have to do a CMA, pull comps, and tell the system what it needs to know.  Something that was sold as being done in an hour took us almost 4 hours to produce the first one.  Not really user-friendly.

Good morning, Gwen... I took a four hour course... (at least it gave me CE credit). Sadly, RPR does not drill down to most subdivisions, which is what I need for my CMA's, so I don't use it and I've stopped frustrating myself. Also found it very cumbersome to use.

Gwen Fowler-864-638-3599 SC * Mountain* Lake*Home - no, I don't But its coming. I've know about it and went through training twice and it didn't excite me. I don't know that its effective for my needs and the training quite boring. Unfortunately, I received notice my MLS will be down for a few days and they recommend using RPR. Oh dear, our market ramped up in January and February feels like a broken treadmill that seems like I'm going to kill myself. And now, MLS will be down due to updates? Ugh!

I have used RPR.  You really have to use your own details- refine the value with what you know about the house- updates, costs, etc.  Also, adding the correct data for your particular house.  I have found the comps are lacking in several of my counties because the records are not accurate.  So I either use my own comps or leave them off and go with my refined value.  Hope that helps.
