Some may recall the posts I wrote for the December Challenge and one other during December about About a Post Card from the 1969 and "The Human Spirit". These posts bring to a head what has happened in the last three weeks. They all tie together and why I have been missing from ActiveRain.
It all started two days before Christmas. I wrote about the "Holiday Miracle". My sellers, who are also my buyers were in a contingent contract. I got the call on December 23rd from the agent owner of the home my clients were going to buy and told me that the deal was off if we could not close by Dec. 30th.
Long story short, we couldn't close until January 2022. So now my clients who were selling their home would be "homeless" because the sale of their home was still on track... and then it wasn't and then it was again! YIKES! That is a whole other story that I will not go through now right now.
Looking For Another Home...
You can only imagine how my clients felt during what should be a wonderful time of year. There were boxes everywhere at Christmas and now, no place to send those boxes! I called upon my "Human Spirit" to do everything I could do to find a new home and/or a rental for my clients. I know my clients well. I did find another home and we had to negotiate hard with all parties involved. We were able to come to an agreement. Unfortunately, the negotiations went through the entire holiday season. This home was positioned higher than my clients wanted to spend, but it is exactly what they wanted. I am not going to write about that home until we close escrow but we are moving forward, and if all goes well, there will be no "homeless" clients! As I write this, I am doing the due diligence on all the inspections including a 28 page well report.
"Marketing Woes..."
In my blog "Marketing Woes", I mentioned that I was going to get back to some tried and true marketing. I have been pretty successful in my market sending out postcards such as the one below. Two different "Just Sold" postcards went out in December. I have had action on both of these postcards. I have a couple of new listings coming this year already from these mailings.
Then I got two listings from a client, who I sold a home to in my neighborhood. So this all happened during Christmas and the New Year. I have been nonstop from morning through evening making sure all the balls are in the air.
NEW LISTING!
One of the listings from my neighbor went on the MLS yesterday. Rick had to have virtual staging done for the pics and my clients are extremely happy with the results.
But that is another blog...! I do want to showcase the virtual staging and the difference it makes.
and to tie this back to the "Human Spirit"... the quote below sums up the last three weeks well for me.
It is inevitable that some defeat will enter even the most victorious life. The human spirit is never finished when it is defeated...It is finished when it surrenders...
