Whether you are buying a new home, getting ready to sell, move, or need a change, your surroundings can have a positive influence on how you decide to color your world.
What draws you in? Is it water? You could start by improving your bathroom or turning your backyard into your personal oasis. Do you like order? Begin by organizing. Deciding what goes with what and what needs to be weeded out is an incredibly good place to start. Do you desire peace and tranquility? Mother Nature and creations that surrounds you can have a positive effect on you and everyone else.
Does green stimulate your senses desiring a sense of peace, growth, and opportunities? Or does it make you feel envious? Reflecting on what makes you happy by simply sitting still in a park like setting can be an inspiration. Do the woods get you excited about whether or not you need wood floors, furniture, wooden accents that blend with colors from nature can make you happy or maybe you already have all the colors that you like and all it needs is a pop of color, like red, orange, yellow, something bright and bold? Or do you prefer more tranquility because you are on the minimalist end of the spectrum with less clutter, chaos in your life without the need for more color?
The natural world is full of wonder and the most important source of positive energy. If you look hard enough, listen long enough, or just think in silence you may find answers in the sound of the birds, ripples in a pond, the smell of flowers, a breeze from the trees that blows through your hair, or just by watching a new leaf turn over. Life is always about perspective and it is too short to care about what other people think, say, or do. I hope you like my writing and these ideas give you some inspiration ---Patricia Feager

Yesterday, Mary Margaret and I decided to go for a walk along a trail we have passed hundreds of times, but never explored. It was a complete surprise and traveled much further than we anticipated. It was beautiful. We saw plenty of birds, a bunch of turtles and all kinds of beautiful plants. It all did color our world peacefully!

George Souto - Being near natural water, regardless of whether it is the ocean, a river, pond, lake, or stream seems to encourage good blood and oxygen to flow through our bodies, minds, and spirits. It is my favorite thinking place too. May you continue to sit by the water of your choice and contemplate all the good reasons why you are here on earth and how you can be a blessing to others.
Raymond Henson, eXp Realty - what a blessing it is to have a spouse who enjoys your company and together you explore life to the fullest, taking roads less traveled, or never thought about before. Your walk together painted a beautiful picture in my mind. May you continue on your journey together in awe of this wonderland called earth.

Good morning, Patricia... every time I redecorate or buy something new for my home, I'm always thinking about adding some great color... and I always end up staying neutral at the end. I was doing greys in my home in the 1980's before grey became the "in color." I guess you could say that my idea of peaceful is neutral colors.

What a beautiful post Patricia! I have been aware of my surroundings for many years. Being outside as well as having the 'outside in' feeling is so important to me. Thus we have a wall of windows that looks out to our backyard oasis full of beautiful trees, flowering plants, birds, bunnies, a water fountain, pool - all very soothing and nature-filled! In my office I have a large window that looks out over the pool and I can hear the beautiful deep chimes blowing every so slightly in the wind. Oh and let's not forget our 'penguins' floating in the pool 24-7!! Always a flight of whimsy going on out there! Lovely post - lovely!

Nina Hollander, Broker - Neutral is good! You are true to yourself and not persuaded by what others think, say, or do. There's nothing wrong with being in the safe zone! The hardest sale I had was a house that had 12 different floors, two different types of bamboo, hardwood, marble, ceramic tile, and engineered wood with a glossy finish. Plus, every room had a different color of the rainbow, including the kitchen cabinets. Buyers found it shocking and it took a very long time to sell because the sellers were not about to make any changes.
Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Cell: 631-805-4400 - thanks! I spent the better half of my life finding creative solutions out in nature sitting by a body of water.
Anna Banana Kruchten CRS, Phoenix Broker - I love your comment and everything you described about your home. It sounds like a house that is very welcoming, peaceful, and fun to entertain guests. Even the wildlife is entertaining! Your home must give you a sense of pride and joy.

It is indeed peaceful, welcoming and absolutely perfect for entertaining small or big groups. We've literally hosted at least 500 to 1000 business events here since we've moved in. And we love our home to this day, especially since we remodeled this past year and almost completed. Yea!
Good morning Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP, the perfect setting for me would be right by the water. Since there's no ocean in Central FL, I had to settle for a lakefront lot. Our surroundings contribute to our moods whether we realize or not. I love this post, you certainly colored it with your beautiful words.

Beth Atalay - you made my day! Water is the source for life and by sitting still, seeds are planted in our heads that often grow into big ideas! I agree with you that "our surroundings contribute to our moods." Awe, thank you for the lovely compliment. You are a beautiful person inside and out.
Thank you for sharing that tranquil picture to go with your post today it was very appropriate Patricia 🙂
