This week in history has some interesting facts.  Did you know Thomas Edison had over 1,000 patents in his lifetime?

Hello Dorie - while I don't remember each (firsthand or by previously learning) there are some where seeing them as a group are a reminder that much can happen during the dog days of August.

Dorie I remember reading and hearing about the first heart transplant, but had forgotten it was that long ago.

Hi Dorie I remember the Mall of America Opening as I grew up in MN but left after college.  My one thought about that mall is how HUGE it is.  Not sure I ever shopped there when I went back to visit my parents and family.

Hi Dorie- I love looking back at what happened. It's a good mini-history lesson as well. We Houstonians are very proud of Dr. DeBakey. 

Oh Dorie, I do remember the 2003 Blackout in New York. I was working in the garment district and Larry was picking me up from work. I worked on the 26th floor and just about ready to get into the elevator, but the doors closed!
