Hmmm... I guess I never shared this. Found it in my Drafts folder. Soooo... I updated it and present it to you now.

January 2023 is almost finished. Spring is coming but, there's still February and March to get through,  Say it ain't so!!! lol

Lately, we've been hearing more and more about banning natural gas usage in our homes & businesses. Locally the City of Brookline banned natural gas usage in all new construction. In our own town, we have just installed charging stations at the Town Hall, Library, and Park for electric vehicles. Some States are mandating that 50% of all vehicles sold should be electric (battery-operated) by 2035. MassSave® is a collberative of Massachusetts gas and electric compnaies that offers enery audits with significant cost savings and rebates. They have an arm that performs small remodeling jobs. e.g. They'll do your kitchen but you'll have to swap out your gas stove for electric. If I remodel my basement I'd need to install electirc heat for that area. But, I digress.

There's much talk, both pros, and cons, regarding the future of electric cars and their functionality.

Kinda gives you an understanding of when the horseless carriage first showed up on the scene. Needless to say, most people thought this wouldn't last long. Nothing would replace the horse, right? Think again.

Now we have electric (battery-operated) vehicles. The best known was the brainchild of Elon Musk known as TESLA. When it first came out it caught the eyes of the public and was a sleek-looking vehicle.

Tesla Working "Feverishly" On New Roadster, Design Boss Says

The future is here and we better get used to battery-operated vehicles becoming more popular. Here's a fun commercial on the battery-operated vehicle. (spoof)

THUS, be aware the move to electric is here and will not go away.

Hello Doug, I see custom builders are putting in garages a place to charge your car now in our area.  I am not sold on them YET!

I am all for cleaner energy.  I did some simple research on miles traveled on an average charge.  Less than 200 for the most part and that figure very generous.  Time to charge the battery unreasonable.  At lease 2 to 3 hours partial charge.   At the present time it seems as if battery power literally pins you to within 50 to 100 miles of home.  Gots to get better than that long before these mandatory rules come to play.  Just my opinion of course.  mdm

I read a post about two 35 yrs old who both bought Tesla’s . They owned them for 18 months . Went back to gas . They said keeping the cars charged was stressful . Often the charge would be less than what was indicated. Traveling long distance was at your own risk of finding unoccupied Charging Stations !

Interesting information Mark Don McInnes, Sandpoint-Idaho I wish they would make a way so the batteries keep a charge. Kinda like an alternator

Hello Michael J. Perry These are the issues that innovative products bring on in the earlier versions. I'm sure that someday we'll all be riding in the back of a self driving vehicle

Doug, I think the trip I just took would have taken a LOT longer if I had to stop and wait for the car to charge.   Not sold on EV!

We have all manner of liberties in this country until government gets involved and limits them, No natural gas, and here in CT the power companies just doubled the generation rate. I'm sure they want a lot of electric cars in the state.

Hi Doug- we have a Prius so I take comfort in knowing that I can always run my car on gas. I cannot imagine what we would have done if during a hurricane we had to evacuate when we lived in FL and had to rely on an electric car. I prefer cooking with natural gas and want the choice!

I would not trade my Tesla for any other vehicle, it is by far the best vehicle I have ever driven and the safest car on the road to boot.  I find it sad that the politicians misspend our tax dollars though and support companies (probably ones they have affiliation with or stand to gain from) that aren't truly doing what is best for the people.  The charging network that they back don't even provide reliable chargers which I think is going to make it difficult for any other auto company to compete in the EV segment unless they develop their own charging network.

Hello Ed Silva

The "blue states" all seem to have the desire to eliminate natural gas and propane in buildings and a great many want electric vehicles to be mandatory. I'm not sold on EV vehicles but could be if they were able to generate their own charge (kinda like an alternator keeping the car battery charged.)

Choice is the key element Kathy Streib. As far as EVs go I wouldn't object if they were able to generate a charge to keep the batteries refreshed.

Hi Brian England

Every Tesla owner I have spoken with has told me they love their Tesla. (What did you name yours? The only complaint I've heard is from those in snow areas and they say they don't handle well in the snow or slippery conditions.
