The much, anticipated annual ACL Fest at Zilker Park has grown to two weekends! October 7- 9th and 14th – 16th. There are 9 stages and 100+ performances so it’s party time in Austin! With artists like SZA, Lil NasX and Paramore performing you’re going to hear a lineup of popular music that spans generations! There are 75,000 attendees anticipated to attend each day. |
This year marks 20 years since Charles Attal and Charlie Jones created a fall festival inspired by PBS legendary Austin City Limits Television Series and kicked off the first festival on September 28th with 25,000 attendees a day filling Zilker Park. Oh my how we have grown!

The Austin Airport is expecting record travel both weekends. If you didn’t book a flight, you might be out of luck! There could be some tickets left but you’ll have to go online to check and see if wrist bands are available. I expect there will be limited numbers: Tickets |
ACL is a marathon, not a sprint so take time to organize before heading to Zilker Park, trust me you will be glad you did. Just ask the Pro’s who go each year..they readily offer tips and know what they are talking about:
♦ What do I need to bring?
An empty reusable water bottle, which can be filled at water stations inside the park and sunscreen!! Just make sure it’s 3.4 ounces or less and not in a no-aerosol container. Bring a portable charger, you’ll be glad when you are ready to go home! Cell service is spotty so pick a spot with your friends in case you get separated.
♦ How do I get there?
Check out the options because don’t think for a moment you can drive and park at the festival. A pro tip is grab food on the way, so many nearby places like, Chuy’s and Sandy Hamburgers. A bonus tip is Carpenter Hotel will open its new food truck concept “Lil Carpenter” in front of the hotel throughout both festival weekends for morning coffee and late-night food!

Download the ACL Fest app which also included a map so you can quickly find each stage.
♦ Do I need to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test?
No and masks are not required
♦ How do I pay for food and drink?
Link your credit card to your wrist band to easily tap for food and drink
♦ Will Austin Police use its no refusal Initiative during the festival?
Yes, it allows officers to quickly obtain blood evidence from suspected drunken drivers.
