Make Tucson your Home

This was taken from an email sent from "VisitTucson" this week and it really, really resonated.

To quote:  "Deep breath. New year, new you – right? Time to sluff off the holiday weight. Or reinvent your wardrobe. Or spend three months trekking through the wilderness to reveal an undiscovered version of yourself.

At least that’s what all the emails in your inbox are you telling you is apt for January.

But in Tucson, we’re of a different breed. Don’t get us wrong, we embrace wellness. But we don’t think integrating wellness into your everyday life means you have to reinvent yourself. After all – we like you just the way you are."

Tucson.  "We like you just the way you are."

It makes me think back to 1998.  I visited Tucson for the first time as an adult.  Coming from Green Bay, WI, it was heaven to experience a 70 degree Thanksgiving.

I repeated the experience for the new millenium, and returned for a Happy New Year's celebration.  In the 70's again.

Walking down the street, people were smiling.  Folks working menial jobs were pleasant and conversational.  I remember the ticket taker at the airport (it wasn't always a machine!) made me feel welcome to Tucson. So many little things, a great big yellow sun, and a few "Howdy Darlin's" when out being a tourist had me leaving with the want ads and a promise to myself to move.

Six months later, I arrived.  June 2000.
I've never looked back.  I still feel like I'm on permanent vacation. I still love the folksy, melting pot of people that Tucson is.

We DO like you just the way you are.  Maybe that's why so many people move here.  Yesterday's headlines were saying, "Tucson is one of the 52 places you should visit in 2023, according to The New York Times. The Old Pueblo made it to the NYT's fifteenth spot in its “52 Places to Go in 2023” list. Tucson was described as “a rebounding center of art and adobe with centuries-old ties to Mexico.”

So, come visit.  Stay awhile.  And if you decide to move, call me.  I'll help you make Tucson a home.  Search link here for Tucson Homes for Sale.

Hello Cara - I imagine there are more than a few stories told of people who come to Tucson for a visit and become residents.  While, I am a native Californian, I have lived in other states too so I can understand the differences that weather can make for people.
