We read in the newspaper yesterday that the air quality here in Redding is "very unhealthy".  Apparently, the Air Quality Index almost reached hazardous levels, 265 points when any reading above 151 is bad.  Officials advice people with respiratory or heart disease, to avoid all outdoor activity (especially the elderly and children).  For those who like to jog, bike ride or do any outdoor activity, it is probably best you limit your time outdoors.

We noticed the air inside our house was pretty bad when we accidentally left the garage door open for about 10 minutes.

With that said, this doesn't mean you can't have fun indoors:

•  Watch recorded videos of the family. We all have them somewhere around the house; we just don't have the time to watch them. Now you do. Not to mention the laughs you'll enjoy with everyone.

•  If you're into paper crafting/projects, this is a perfect opportunity to finish that scrapbook, make those greeting cards, gift boxes, etc.

•  Read - if you're like us, there's never enough time to read those magazines.  We have a basket of unread magazines such as Sunset Magazine, Men's Journal, Muscle Car magazines, Cooking Magazines, you name it, we have them - but never read them.  Oh and tons of Real Estate-related magazines that are half-read (if you're an agent you know what I mean). It's time to catch up!  I'll start with Cuisine at Home Magazine since I enjoy cooking so much.

•  How about some plain ol' R&R (Rest & Relaxation). Why not. You might be tempted to catch up on house chores or other work stuff, but how about taking it easy and watching a black and white movie with your family.  There's time for everything!

I remember when I was a little girl in the LA area and there would be news casts on the radio about smog alerts!  We had to play inside for the most part!

If you're talking about Active Rain, the future is BRIGHT!  We've come across several other blogging sites that don't come close to AR. And now that Localism is being unveiled, the future looks even brighter!

Hi Cristal - air is beginning to clear up around my neighborhood, the elevation here is a little higher so it's starting to look better. I sat out this morning reading outside and the air felt fresh!
