Being a buyers agent.

I just wrote about the auctions in my last blog, and it made me think about buyers agency. I truly wonder what the rest of the world thinks about it. I have been an agent for some years now and was trained to know the rights of each. I personally think that buyers agency is very important.

Have you ever heard of someone getting a bad deal? What about the buyer not understanding the way to buy a home in your area? I have heard too many times people saying just those things. One of the biggest reasons I love my job as an agent is making sure that a buyer understands what they are getting into. Now I know that it takes a long time to explain and make the connection with our buyers to make that happen. as for me I know that I sleep well knowing I did the "right thing". Whether I sold, or lost a buyer I have to say, I stood by them. I have also found that people see that and respect you more when you go that extra mile to teach them.

In the long run, when your buyer becomes your seller, they have a trust for what you say and do. Maybe if more buyers agents look out for their clients best interest and explain the pitfall and rewards or home ownership, we as agents could prevent some of the foreclosures in our market. It would help not only them but the industry's future as well.

Matt the MARINE says sound off, and tell me what you think.

I agree!  I think it's VERY important that everyone has representation in such an important transaction.

And, anytime you specialize, you open up a market that needs to be served.  I wish you great success!

Matt, we love working with buyers and often they become clients in the future as sellers too. I believe that everyone deserves a real advocate working for them - so which ever side you're representing represent them like you would your own family - putting their best interests above all else and like Broker Bryant says - "Tell them the truth - no matter what" - that's why we get paid the big bucks (smile) Have a great rest of the weekend. Thanks my 2 cents.

Matt - We couldn't agree more.  As a buyer's consultancy in Las Vegas, we market to buyers to attract them, consult them and get them in homes they are happy with.  They become great referrals afterwards.  It seems what the whole market needs now is buyers, but not too many are doing the hard work and marketing to attract them.  Sure, you can get a lot of listings in this buyers market and wait, or you can be proactive and find the buyers - Then you get the best of both worlds.

Try buying a home in Florida. (If you can get home owners insurance!!!!) They don't do buyer agency. You get a "transactional Broker".
