Is THAT the house?

During my venture out to the backwoods of San Diego a few days ago, I found an interesting house/home pictured in a previous blog post.

As we entered the front gate of the property that we were going to look at, the only thing that was visible was the "house" shown in the picture:

My only guess is that it's a hunting blind, I think hunters call them. I'm not a hunter, but I think hunters hide in here and pick off the poor, defenseless wildlife, supposedly for the sport of it. You can see the two "window openings" in the second row of logs from the top where they point their guns out of the blind.

And you thought we just had beaches and fires here in San Diego! Ha!

Any corrections about terminology or architectural style are welcome. LOL

How much was it listed for? It may be a bargain at $100 or so...

That looks interesting. Never seen one before. I can't believe people around my area get so excited about Dove huntin' season, especially when it takes about 20+ to make one meal. ICK!

I didn't know San Diego had a "backwoods". In the upper Midwest, we have backwoods. It's quite common to come across a hunter's "stand" in the up north lands of Wisconsin. Once in a while, you even find a hunter in one.

Deer Blind, stand, shack, you name it waht you wnat. That took to much effort if you ask me.

That looks like a rustic pole house. I am guessing they listed it in excellent condition. LOL

Well that is one interesting home. Let's see someone try and do an inspection on that.

Wow. Now that's some spectacular architecture. Looks familiarly like a homemade deer blind. What a shame, they could have used all that lumber to make a real log cabin. How do you get up in that thing? is there a ladder? And no doubt you cannot be over 3" 2' to stand up inside.

Who knew there were hunters in CA?!? It is positively for hunting because it looks too small and uncomfortable to be a tree house for kids. You find stuff like this all over Texas. There was one in the back of my last house in Northwest Hills (Austin TX). It backed up to a big greenbelt nature area of about 100 acres. There were always loads of deer in my yard. Yes it was in the heart of the city, so I don't think it had been used in about 30 years.

How about some inside shots. It doesn't do anygood just to have one outside picture.

Hey, Gene. They didn't have a lockbox on the house. We thought about breaking in, but I still pride myself on being an upstanding member of society. Although I do tell little white lies occasionally. breaking and entering is still not one of my areas of expertise. LOL

In NC, we have Dear Stands. not usually on the ground though. Typically up in a tree or at least 20 fet off the ground. This looks more like a Log Cabin gone bad. Good Laugh!! Thanks!

"Log Cabin gone bad." ROTFLMAO. That's good. I can see some foreclosure or short sale specialist picking up on it:

"Hello. My name's Jane Doe, and I specialize in mortgages gone bad."

Jim - If it is on the same compound as the previous post, they probably used it to keep unwanted realtors and inspectors out . :)

flip this House as soon as the rehab loan goes thru!

All shapes and sizes huh? And there is a property for everyone...even hunters. Cute post.
