Obama's Moratorium on Foreclosures?!?!?!?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Total Care Realty NCRE# 257455

So let me understand something that was mentioned on the news today.  Is it true Obama wants to put a 90 day moratorium on foreclosures so that the people with foreclosures can get caught up or figure something out as to how to pay their bills?

OK so all you agents and brokers out there that have shifted your business over to foreclosures and the investment market are you ready to have a really DRY 1st quarter of next year!!!  I mean not withstanding what this will do to the banks that have not been getting paid for these loans already now they lose access to the capital that secured the loans.  Correct me if I am wrong but, is this not like cutting off your nose to spite your face.  I mean let's all go bury our heads somewhere and just pretend that all these ideas are good and that is what we want setting policy.  Someone that has never had any experience running a business, state, town, or anything and only a few years in his present post!!!

I guess there is only one thing left to say and do!

Good Bye cruel cruel world!!

The only thing that will happen with a 90 day moritorium is that after 90 days there will be a big glut of foreclosures on the nmarket again!

I'm sure glad "There's only one thing left to do" came after the first picture and not before it. LOL

A 90-day moratorium will let people live rent-free for an extra 90 days before they get evicted.

William yes there will but, in that 90 day period that can affect alot of different segments of the economy considering those homes usually sell quickly, and are then rented out.

Russel  Oh sing it to the choir.  So now all the money that would usually be flowing into the economy do the Democrats actually think they will pump that money back into the economy?  Oh so I guess we will see the missing surge in the stock market then since they will be living free.

How about he puts the proverbial foot up the arse of these banks that sit on a short sale for 2 to 4 months instead.

Ellie That would be a blessing. Maybe the government is not the only thing that needs to be reformed.

Larry - Interesting first picture; I hope that chap wasn't eating cabbage the night before.

Personal responsibility and accountability has all but left the building.  Blame both administrations but more than that... US!  That mirror of ours can sing a vital tune...

What about the first time home buyer's who are waiting and the investor's who are buying foreclosures?  I'm not an agent but I do work in REO properties and these are usually listed on the market for 90 days anyway.  We currently have one lady who has lived payment free for a year because of them going back and forth on what to do.  It's just prolonging the process and anyone who is already facing foreclosure, will not have enough time to really do anything.  They hopefully have already explored all of their options and made a decision before an eviction has to happen.
