Sweetwater in Downtown Milledgeville- where does it come from?

This weekend Milledgeville Georgia will hold it's 5th Annual Sweetwater Festival.  Last year this even drew over 150,000 people to downtown Milledgeville, Georgia.  The cost is just $5.00 durning  the day and $15 for the evening events.  Lots of bands, merchants, food and most of all lots of great times.  Hop on over and read the story about Milledgeville celebrating it's past, present and future and the story about the sweet waters of the Oconee River that settled the town of Milledgeville (Previous capital of Georgia) The city is beautiful and now that sweet water of the Oconee River provides a wonderful 15,000+ acre recreational lake built by Georgia Power, Lake Sinclair.  You will see just how beautiful our lake is and want to visit frequently or relocate to this beautiful and thriving community.

This Saturday, October 25th, 2008 is a wonderful opportunity to come and see our community here at Lake Sinclair.  You'll be glad you did.

NOBODY COVERS THE LAKE LIKE LANE

That's a beautiful photo of the lake. And 150,000 people!? Wow! We have a similar event here. Almost identical by your description.

Actually John I'm going to have to miss the most of it.  I have office duty on Saturday.  But hopefully some of those visitors will find their way by my office.

Elizabeth- Yeah having moved to the lake when I was 9 and going to my aunt and uncles' place there before that I sometimes miss the beauty of it, but when taking a picture of a sunset like this... even when I see it all the time I can't miss it.

Sandy- I will go after dark and listen to the bands.  I'll miss all the yummy festival food, which is a good thing I 'spose.

Dinah- Anytime... It's a lot of fun.
