Eat the frog!

                               Eat the frog!

One of the things that helps me during my day as a real estate professional is a little practice I heard about and then later read about. It is called "eating the frog." For those of you who are not lovers-of-all- things-slimy please don't worry - you will not really be eating any amphibians. Basically, what this means is that on your list of things to do in a day, pick the item that you LEAST want to do. In our profession I know this list can be long. It might be calling a client and relaying bad news, or it may be farming your neighborhood or making those darn prospecting calls. Whatever it is that you DREAD doing, that my friends is your "frog."

After you have identified your FROG for the day then, well, you eat it! Now you don't eat it one frog leg at a time. You eat it like the folks on Survivor eat their nasty creepy-crawlies - gulp it down!!! After your frog has been consumed or rather,  checked off your list, you will feel  better and can move on with your day without worrying about getting it done.

I have a nice green little frog that sits on my desk to remind me to eat the frog daily. There is a wonderful book that I highly recommend by Brian Tracy called Eat That Frog!

Check it out! Like sushi you might acquire a taste for the slimy little fellows!

Here's to happy eating!

Amy, If you eat that frog first thing in the morning, nothing else can be that bad the rest of the day. They're always telling us to eat a good breakfast.

I've heard this technique described with various titles "Worst first" etc.  It is a good way to get things done.  The problem I've always had with it is that it's too easy to find more pressing matters to pay attention to and keep pushing it to the bottom of the list.  Hoping, I guess, that it will "croak".

I saw this book and thought it may help me with procrastination. This is the first "reveiw" I've read for the book. It sounds like it would be worth a read. Thanks!
