Laura Watts came up with a challenging Christmas Meme, at least for me. It's almost Christmas and I am to determine the one gift I would want above all, well, above all other objects that is. Nothing like world peace, happiness, etc. Maybe I could ask that stores not put up Christmas displays until at least Thanksgiving. But that doesn't seem to fit the spirit of a material Christmas.
So, what object would I like to have? Can people be considered objects? Do I wish for buyers. How about listings? I could wish for those also. But is it fair (oh my, back to campaing talk) to ask for those. Well, yeah, but I think I will put them a bit lower on my list.
How about time, is that an object? I could ask for more time with my grandson, I only get to see him once or twice a year since he lives outside of Seattle. But time is not an object.
So, let's get to the gist of it, what material thing would I really want for Christmas? What object would I really want. If a pair can be considered an object, I believe that I have found what I would like.
My wife and I went to the movies yesterday and saw Australia with Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman. We enjoyed it. Most of it took place in the outback. It reminded me of the month I spent in The Land of Oz, in 2001. The outback was my favorite part. Seing the movie made me want to go back.
So, for Christmas, I would really like a pair of tickets to Australia, to share that great adventure again with my wife (who I had not met when I went the last time). She has not had a lot of adventure in her life and I would really like to share on big one with her. I would love to see her experience holding a koala (wow, so soft and cuddly), to see kangaroos race along side the Land Cruiser, to share a sunset with her at Uluru.
Probably not this year, but, maybe next year, or the year after.
So, there it is Laura. I hope the pair of tickets qualify as an object. I can touch and hold them.
And now I will ask the following to share their material Christmas desires with us:
Richard Weisser
Susan Mangigian
Leesa Finley
Don Rogers
JL Boney
