In a study recently released by the National Association of Home Builders and Wells Fargo, the Indianapolis area ranks number two nationally in their measure of home affordability. According to this study 91% of Indianapolis residents have sufficient income to afford the median priced home in the Indianapolis-Carmel area. It is not ususual to see Indianapolis ranking high on the housing affordability index. It shows that home values in the area are supported by the actual income earned by residents of the area.
