A DAY OF INFAMY FOR THE DETROIT LIONS ?

By

The Detroit Lions are in Green Bay today to play the Packers.

A loss would give them an 0-16 record, an NFL record for futility. A lot of fans around here are rooting for a loss in the hope it will spur current owner William Clay Ford (that's right Ford as in Ford Motors) to make some drastic changes in hopes of future improvement.

Personally, as a longtime Lions fan , I am hoping for a minor miracle and a win (they haven't won in Green Bay in 17 years). I think as a fan you always want to win.

So hopefully around 4:00 this afternoon I will be celebrating a win, we need some good news around here.

Terry,

If they lose, maybe they could merge teams with GM - oh, that's right - no other teams. :)

They definitely need to make some changes & improvements. Was painful to watch. Too bad my good friend, Kitna, got hurt. What is the future of Kit and the Lions?

Trey

From what I've heard, he's done in Detroit. The speculation is he'll end up where ever Mike Martz lands.

Terry,

I used to think that on any given Sunday, any NFL team could beat any other NFL team. Detroit's season is challenging my belief. They could have gotten some sympathy if they were an expansion team.

Terry, I watched and was hoping for at least 1 win, but just as I figured, another loss. 0 -16 this is the worst they've ever been.

I'm sure there were a few nervous Lambeau fans when the game was tied 14-14 early in the second half. My guess is there will be major changes for 2009.

I'll admit I was one of those rooting for a loss on Sunday, for purely selfish reasons.  It was my birthday and I thought that it would be fun to have our Lie-downs make history on my birthday.  Well, it happened, and now I just feel sad.  Losing Marinelli yesterday was a good start, but I don't think the rest of the moves they made are upgrades by any stretch of the imagination.  <..heavy sigh..>

I know I am posting late, but better late than never. I can not believe they went without at least one win this year. That is very disappointing and disheartening.
