Professional Virtual Tour

I was watching one of those home improvement channels last night and happened to see a thirty second commentary by one of the hosts for these shows. In these short spots that have been running with some frequency lately, the host was emphasizing the importance of having a professional photographer take the photos for your print and internet advertising for your listings. Her reasoning for this was that professionals know just the right angles to use to capture the best scope and lighting of what is being photographed. I was curious, with all of the avid photographers who are professional realtors, how many of you use a professional photography service?

The use of virtual tours has also exploded in recent years. I think this is a great development as it gives potential buyers the ability to get a much better feel for a property before the drive across town to view it. Now while many realtors are great photographers, video production is a whole other matter. I have seen some excellent tours that have great lighting and really move at a speed that is easy on the eyes and overall quite pleasant. I know that there are services out there that can quickly and economically produce these videos but I am curious as to how many professionals actually utilize this type of service? And if you do or have used this type of service, has it made a noticeable difference in your bottom line?

I use professional photography for exclusive properties.  It pays off in the end because tey sell quicker.  I'm still reluctant to use it on all of my listings because of layout expenses.  I also hire an aerial photographer to do air shots of some of my listing.   Best Wishes

On a house like mine I don't think it would make much difference.  On a grand home go for it.

Danny, professional photographers do know how to set up a shot for the best composition, lighting, etc. In the long run, it is well worth the money. Thanks.

Caron, it definitely seems the way to go.

John, you would be surprise what photographers can do to a house.

Michael, I agree.
