Hello Active Rain blogger friends everyone,
I took a Continuing Education class on January 15, 2009 in Boxborough, Ma, with Technologist Guru, Amy Chorew. She taught 2 classes, The Tools of the Trade" and Web2.0 "Are you ready to communicate to the world?" Amy taught us about the many social networking media available and which were the top 3 she said we all shall be on. LINKED IN was Number 1, then Facebook, then Active Rain. They all could have been number 1, she wanted us to be on all three.
AS SOON AS I RETURNED TO MY OFFICE,
I registered on Linked In and Active Rain. I was already on Facebook and Twitter. I was impressed with both sites and anxious to participate. As of today I have connected to 60 business partners, people I know or have worked with, including my past clients and members of Associations I am active with or have been in classes with or in attendance with at conventions, conferences, seminars, etc.
I was impressed with Active Rain but somewhat intimidated by so much to learn and fearing my first blog. I have been blogging on my site, http://www.chatwithKathleen.blogspot.com since August 2005. This blog was different I would be talking with fellow Realtors and I just did not know what to say or where to begin.
I felt I had so much to learn first, however
I TOOK MY LEAP OF FAITH and posted my first blog yesterday about Real Estate values being equivalent to the year 2003 in Rhode Island as wrtitten by our Providence Journal staff writer. I was so surprised to receive already 5 comments this morning.
I have been in the Real Estate industry after leaving a career in secondary teaching for the past 39 years and love it. I managed an office of 16 agents back in the mid 70's-mid 80's and was a company trainor for 10 years. In 1991 as broker owner with my husband, John, of Real Estate 100, Corbett Realty Inc. we decided after much intensive travelling and researching to change our business model from a traditional office to an Exclusive Buyer's office, now doing business as The Buyer's Choice. We have no regrets. I love only representing the buyers as my clients 100%. We were the first in RI, the pioneers, the mavericks.
I have lived and worked in Lincoln, RI for 37 years. It is a remarkable community for raising a family. I will blog about my town so you can compare it to your town USA or your international countries' community. I really look forward to making many new networking friends on Active Rain and learning about the real estate industry where you live. work and play.
